Starlog is a receipt scanner and expense tracker for small businesses. It's made by a small, independent team — not a faceless platform. Here's who we are and why we build it.

Why Starlog exists

I run a gym, and I know plenty of other people who run small businesses. None of us trained as accountants, and all of us spend a depressing number of hours every month trying to make our businesses legible to ourselves — equipment receipts, subscriptions, a coffee with a member, cleaning supplies paid in cash with a number scrawled on a napkin.

The receipts problem is small in a sentence and enormous in a life. It’s why a small-business owner can’t tell you in May what they actually spent in March. It’s the reason people overpay tax every year. The existing tools are good — but they’re built for the wrong person. Accounting suites are built for accountants; corporate expense apps are built for the reimbursement workflow. Neither is built for the owner who just needs to know which of forty-eight charges actually counts at tax time.

Who's behind it

Starlog is a product of Starlance LLP, an independent company registered in Hyderabad, India, founded in March 2026. It’s built by a small team led by founder Vivek Reddy — a real person who runs a real business and built the tool he wished existed.

We’re deliberately small and independent. There’s no outside pressure to lock you in or upsell you into things you don’t need. You can find us on LinkedIn and X, and reach a human directly at support [at] starlancegroup [dot] com.

What we believe

  • You own your data. Receipts live in your own Google Drive — under your account, not ours. If you ever leave, you keep the folder and everything in it. No vendor lock-in.
  • People are free; businesses are the product. Invite as many submitters as you need at no cost. The paywall is running multiple businesses — never a per-seat tax on your team.
  • Built for owners, loved by accountants.The job isn’t bookkeeping software you have to learn. It’s handing your accountant a clean, complete record in one tap.
  • Honest about what we are. Starlog is a receipt scanner and expense tracker. Not a journaling app, not a bloated finance suite — one job, done well.
